Round slide v.s. Flat slide

by dyoshida on June 12, 2009

Me here.  Hopefully this weekend I’ll have a chance to work on the carbing.  I took the scoot out for a putter a week ago.  I put on an old Mikuni 28 round slide.  Very very smoky when idling.  No low end power but after about 30 km, I get a boost.  My carbing was always off before so now with the additional porting I’ll get a fresh start at this all.  I will part the round slide for now and try out a flat slide carb.  There are good resources on the web that I have found that talks about carbing tips, I’ll post which ones that work out.

I have decided to put in a OKO 24 flat slide that I found, we’ll how really easy it is.  From what everyone tells me the flat slide carbs are way easier to configure.  We’ll see.

BTW – I was able to get into the  garage over the past few days and get the headlight wiring to work.
